<td align="left" valign="top"><strong>Some of the duties of this office are to:<br />

1.    Advocate for veterans, their dependents and survivors.<br />
2.    Assist veterans filing service-connected disability claims.<br />
3.    Assist veterans filing non-service connected disability claims.<br />
4.    Assist veterans and their dependents recover lost or forgotten military records.<br />
5.    Assist veterans applying for enrollment in VA Health Care.<br />
6.    Assist veterans and their dependents applying for VA education benefits.<br />
7.    Assist widows and widowers with filing for Surviving Spouse Benefits.<br />
8.    Provide outreach appointments to house-bound veterans and widows throughout Lane County.<br />
9.    Provide outreach to Florence, Cottage Grove and Oakridge.</td>

<td align="left" valign="top"><strong>Eligibility: </strong>All veterans or dependents of veterans and their survivors. Be sure to ALWAYS ASK FOR INQUIRY OF THE BENEFITS you are entitled to. They are not always automatically offered.</td>

<td align="left" valign="top"><span class="pharmacyh1"><strong>Aid &amp; Attendance Benefits</strong></span></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td align="left" valign="top">The <strong>Aid and Attendance (A&amp;A) Pension</strong> provides benefits for veterans and surviving spouses who require the regular attendance of another person to assist in eating, bathing, dressing and undressing or taking care of the needs of nature. It also includes individuals who are blind or a patient in a nursing home because of mental or physical incapacity. Assisted care in an assisted living facility also qualifies.</td>

<td align="left" valign="top">To qualify for A &amp; A it needs to be established by your physician that you require daily assistance by others to dress, undress, bathe, cook, eat, take on or off prosthetics, leave home, etc. You DO NOT have to require assistance with all of these. There simply needs to be adequate medical evidence that you cannot function completely on your own.</td>
